making art with dad
Thursday 03.31.2011
On Thursdays Trav stays home with the girls until noon while I put in a long morning for work. On this morning Kapria asked if she could use the new watercolors we'd bought. So Trav pulled everything out for some art time. And I couldn't believe (and felt pretty bad) that we'd never done watercolors with her! Trav explained how to rinse the brush between colors, and she got really into it. Mila was happy drawing with her markers the whole time. We love creating!

go cougars!
September 26
Kapria went to her first BYU game of the season with Travis. She didn't want to take a picture, but I snapped one before they left anyway. Trav says she had a blast. She played with our cousin's daughter who's three years old, and they cheered and climbed the stairs a lot.
Now Kapria calls that pink hat her "BYU hat." She'll wake up in the morning and say, "Where's my BYU hat?" It takes me a minute to remember that it's the pink one... She also likes to cheer. Out of nowhere she'll yell, "Goooo Cougars!" or start singing the fight song. She loves when we sing it with her.

I love watching Kapria loving her dad and I love watching Trav be a dad. They are so much alike in personality. I don't know if Trav realizes that. I just did as I sat staring at these pictures. They both like to do things just to see people's reactions. They both like to be goofy. They both have to be left alone to cool off when they're upset. They both need time in the morning to emerge from sleep without being bugged. They both could care less about food and only think of it when they're so hungry they can't stand it anymore. They both like to make people laugh. They both have strong personalities that want to do things their own way. (hmm...that might be from me too. hah!)
They're both so beautiful I just want to cry.

ca trip eve
The night before Kapria and I left for our trip, we packed and hung out as a family. Lately she has become a monkey. She loves to hold onto our hands and climb up as high as she can go. Trav usually does this next to the love sac and doesn't hold her hands at all. Once she's tired of hanging on, K let's go and lands with a big laugh.

We hated to have to say goodbye. We both missed our main man and we were glad when he was able to join us.
I'll update about the trip over the next few days. Or maybe I'll get ambitious and one day you'll wake up to 20 new posts. I bet you can't wait.
